What we are about
According to the most recently published Gallop Poll, 65% of Americans are satisfied with their health and medical care. What happens to the 35% then? Afraid of being judged, of being dismissed, of being ignored they check out of healthcare. Salty Dreams started with a little boy who was scared of all doctors and nurses and yet learned to dream of being Dr. Micah one day. His mother, Dr. Jo started in the homes of friends and family, helping them navigate the healthcare that terrified them just like it once did that little boy. Yet, every new encounter was about trying to calm and respect each patient to bring them into healthcare. Sometimes you simply have to bring healthcare to the patients instead. Private healthcare allows for this unique and different approach to care.
Salty Dreams is a direct primary care practice. Rather than a traditional fee for each service provided, you pay a monthly membership fee that covers your health and access to your provider. This allows far greater access to your provider while allowing a provider to give you more personalized attention. Health insurance does not cover direct primary care services including SUD management with buprenorphine and other treatment options. We do recommend you maintain insurance for outside services such as labs, diagnostics, prescription coverage, inpatient and surgical services. However, your monthly fee covers your primary care services and full access to Dr. Jo when you need her most.
Experience and Professionalism
Twenty-three years in healthcare and a large special needs family means she’s seen it all, heard it all, and probably tried some of it for herself. Whether you want well child or prenatal care, or the expertise of years of responding to that middle of the night fever, we are here to explore this path with you. We can be your primary care provider, without the frustrating, stressful or downright scary experience of a medical clinic, or just who you call in the night to walk you through those tough decisions.

Sole Proprietor
Dr. Jo specializes in healthcare across the lifespan. She is focused on an integrative and holistic approach to health and working with patients where you are and on the goals you want to work on.
Dr. Jo has experience with SUD and MAT with buprenorphine and other available options. Due to the additional visits and services necessary to partner with these unique population needs, there is an increased membership fee for this care in addition to your standard primary care needs.
Dr. Jo utilizes all appropriate infection control measures for each circumstance. She reserves the right to utilize any and all personal protective equipment for hers and your safety from contagious diseases. You may request increased protection at your own comfort and preference as well.
